QUEER SONGBOOK: MIXTAPE #1
DATE: 10 October 2018
Cabaret, Drag, Music, QPOC, Social
Venue: Rich Mix
Queer Songbook explores and celebrates the queer voice in songs from across the ages. An aviary of non-heteronormative guests have been invited to choose their dearest, queerest song – the song that spoke their truth, strummed their pain or lit a defiant flame in their youth. Stitched together into a coat of many colours by your hirsute hostess, Timberlina, each guest tells the story of their song before singing it live with the amazing Queer Songbook Band.
Timberlina, aka Tim Redfern, acclaimed hirsute hostess, bearded drag lady and Queer performance artist, programmed the first Queer Late at the V&A and has since got on to bring their refreshingly irreverent but informative Queer agenda to museums and other high class institutions across world as well as keeping it real hosting critically acclaimed weekly Big Bingo Show on Monday nights at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern.

Craig has produced works for major festivals and venues, including Barbican, Brighton Festival, The Proms, Sydney Opera House and Hollywood Bowl. In 2007 and 2008 he was the musical programmer for Queer Up North (Manchester), producing a series of events featuring new and established queer musicians, including Cheery Ghost, We Have Band, Anat Ben David, No Bra and Karima Francis.
