Andreas Constantinou (ReDoing GENDER 1.5)
ReDoing GENDER 1.5: is an award winning solo performed by internationally acclaimed artist Andreas Constantinou. In this solo Constantinou challenges patriarchal masculinities in a measure to question normative and non normative male gender roles. From classical sculptures of male ideals, a gender confused ape, feminized frolics, a box headed individual, to a full blown crying baby with a mans body. ReDoing GENDER is filled with intense imagery that displays one mans search for an identity amid the gaze of a patriarchal society.

Lucy McCormick (Mystery Play)
“I have been playing God in a series of biblical re-enactments, performed via dance, pop ballads and performance art.
I was partly inspired to create these pieces by an ongoing interest in the Quaker belief in ‘God’ as one’s own moral conscience – ‘the God in all of us’. These pieces are also an exercise in casting myself as the Ultimate Man, and so allow for my interests and frustrations in gender politics and feminist discourse.
I have enjoyed making crude links between my own position as an artist and the rhetoric of these biblical stories – what do I stand for? what am I willing to do? what will the end be like?
Playing deity allows for both the exorcism and celebration of my own ego”.
